10 Skincare Ingredients Forecast to Trend in 2025

Hello Forecasters,

Welcome back to The Inflection Point.

NWO.ai scanned hundreds of new products from the International Beauty and Spa Show to compile a special list just for you.

Here are 10 ingredients we expect to peak in consumer interest this summer and into 2025.

#1 Tranexamic Acid

First developed in the medical field in the 1960s, Tranexamic Acid is a cutting-edge beauty ingredient that fades dark spots and evens skin tone by interrupting melanin production for a brighter, more blanched complexion.

A popular product containing Tranexamic Acid is from the Inkey List.

Consumers are discussing Tranexamic Acic as an alternative to Hydroquinone, an older topical skin-lighting agent that evens skin tone.

The NWO.ai signal for Hydroquinone is also expected to peak in August 2024.

#2 Copper Peptides

Copper peptides are naturally occurring compounds that stimulate collagen production for potentially smoother, plumper skin.

A popular product is Peach & Lily's Copper Peptide Pro Firming Serum

#3 Glycolic Acid Spray

Glycolic acid sprays gently exfoliate dead skin cells, revealing a brighter, smoother, and more even complexion.

The Ordinary offers a Glycolic Acid Toner that has grown by 2261% in consumer interest over the past three years.

#4 Glutathione Skincare

Glutathione skincare utilizes an antioxidant naturally found in the skin to brighten and even skin tone while offering some anti-aging properties.

Paula's Choice offers a Glutathione Serum combined with a potent 25% vitamin C formula.

#5 Argireline Hexapeptide

Argireline is the name for a peptide that mimics Botox by relaxing facial muscles to reduce the appearance of wrinkles.

Isomers skincare offers one of the highest percentages of Acetyle Hexapeptide-8, promoting it as an "expression line solution."

#6 Polydeoxyribonucleotide (PDRN)

Polydeoxyribonucleotide, a fancy term for salmon sperm DNA, stimulates collagen production for potentially smoother, plumper, and younger-looking skin.

*It's important to note that Polydeoxyribonucleotide (PDRN) is currently only available as an injectable, not a topical product.

#7 Tsubaki Oil

Tsubaki oil, or camellia oil, is a rich source of nutrients that deeply hydrates and nourishes skin and hair.

Although Camellia Oil has been popular in Japan for centuries, it has only gained popularity globally over the last two years.

#8 Anogeissus Leiocarpus

Anogeissus Leiocarpus bark extract is a botanical ingredient that helps reduce the appearance of wrinkles by firming and tightening the skin.

Origins offers a 'youth serum' containing Anogeissus Leiocarpus

#9 Mandelic Acid

Mandelic acid, a gentle alpha hydroxy acid derived from almonds, exfoliates skin to improve texture and tone to reduce the risk of breakouts.

The Ordinary offers a 10% Mandelic Acid serum.

#10 Bifida Ferment Filtrate

Bifida Ferment Filtrate is a prebiotic that nourishes the skin's microbiome for a potentially calmer, brighter complexion.

Korean skincare company Mixsoon offers an entire product line using Bifida.

OK, that's all we've got for now.
